Boeing Grants ACS, HudsonAlpha, UAB $100K for Kidney Cancer Research

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Boeing has announced a $100,000 grant to support a kidney cancer research collaboration between the American Cancer Society, the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

HudsonAlpha’s Richard Myers and UAB’s Guru Sonpavde are investigating genomic signatures and other biomarkers associated with kidney cancer in blood and urine.

In a statement, the partners said they would “refine and optimize kidney cancer biomarkers for use in the clinic.”

Other details were not disclosed.
